Many of my students near the end of their TTC with the same question: what should we do next? And where to study in India? After traveling and roving through a significant portion of India, I have found one particularly special place. I'd like to share some highlights for folks interested in visiting a small city- abundantly rich in so many facets. It is a place that, largely thanks to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, his teachers and his students, has been a crucial link, making the teachings available to the western mind.
ASANA: I highly recommend Sthalam 8 for Mysore Practice with Ajay Kumar and Shiva Prakash Jetty. Check their website for the latest: www.sthalam8.com
PRANAYAMA: I recommend to study with BNS Iyengar, a direct student of Sri Krishnamacarya himself. www.bnsiyengar.net
PATANJALI YOGA SUTRAS AND SANSKRIT: I recommend Dr. MA Jayashree and Professor Narsimha. Here you can study and chant Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's. Dr. Jayashree holds a very high level of education and has a long-standing relationship to the Sutras and is a classical Karnatic singer. She teaches via the Sruti Paramparam method: call and response and Narasimha gives extremely rich insight into the philosophy. It is a valuable treasure to be in their presence. http://www.anantharesearch.org/
ANATOMY: I recommend Noah McKenna, he often teaches week-long workshops in Gokulum. http://www.sukhashanti.net/
